From the day Riley was born, he has been a "mama's boy". He loves his mom so much that when I go out of town he has to have 5x7 pictures of us together so he can sleep with them. So I decided that for his birthday I would make him a quilt. The only problem, I've never quilted and don't know how to sew! But I was determined! So with the help of my friend Heidi, she taught me step by step.
Riley was so excited when he open this gift (but I think I was even more excited). He looked at each picture and pointed out the one's that had just us together. I sat down with him and explained the story behind each picture and why it was chosen. Of course, Star Wars material had to be added because next to his family, Star Wars ranks #2 on his favorites list. All evening long, he has been carting his quilt along side him. He is even wrapped up in it right now, asleep in his bed.
I had so much fun sewing the quilt and knew he would appreciate the time it took to complete it. Riley is such a special child to me because he was my last baby. He holds a special place in my heart and knew I had to do something to show him how much I love him! I love my Ri-Ri!!Happy 9th birthday son!
