A Slow Cooker Thanksgiving

Chris, Loma, Kelsey, Ethan & Riley
Are friends who went along with our craziness! From left to right..back row: Kelsey, Claire, Ro, Fischer, Shelly, Kristi and Penny. Front row: Harli, Amanda, and Loma.
My sister in law, Amanda and I sat next to eachother and acted like teenagers. When Bella and Edward were on screen, our hearts raced, palms sweat and we experienced butterflies in the stomach with each touch! As Kelsey would say, OMG...we love Twilight. Twilight was great..not as good as the book, but man the chemistry was unbelievable. We will definitely see it again!
On November 20th, 1993, I married my best friend. Chris and I met at a Young Single Adult Dance in Glendora. As our group of friends starting hanging out more often, we got to know each other better. We talked for hours on end and knew each other inside and out. Before we knew it, we were best of friends. Our first date happened to be on my birthday. Chris took me out to Bobby McGee's for dinner and from that moment on, I knew this was the man I would love for eternity. After dating a few months, I'll never forget the night he told me he loved me! It still gives me butterflies, even after 15 years !
I love Chris with all my heart. He is an amazing man who loves and cherishes time spent with his family. He's an incredible example to me, his children and those around him. He's my rock in the gospel and I'm thankful for the way he honors his priesthood. I'm also grateful for all he does for our family and truly is a blessing in my life! I look forward to many more years with him by my side. Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart!!
Predictable Kelsey ordered the 10" stretch chili dog.
I ordered the Rosie O'Donnell dog. Not a fan of hers, but I loved the dog! It was topped with chili, mustard, onions, sauerkraut and bacon.
After our delicious dinner, we headed to the Pantages Theatre to see Wicked. This was Kelsey's first time seeing the musical and my second. Of course, she loved it. She thought Glinda was a bit dramatic but I'm sure should could relate...after all, Kelsey is 13! I'm so glad Kelsey loves musicals and operas! After all these years, I finally have a date!
Chris has been at the academy in Sacramento for the last week and has 1 more to go. We decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary early up in San Francisco. I flew up to Sacramento on Friday and we headed to Frisco early Saturday morning. Our first stop was to Alcatraz Island.
We took this picture right before the ferry docked. It was a normal day in Frisco...weather wise. It was gloomy and drizzling but that didn't dampen our spirits!
We went on a self audio tour, which was fascinating. Below, Chris is showing just how big the cells were, or should I say how small they were.
After our few hours on Alcatraz, we spent what seemed like hours walking around Fisherman's Wharf and Ghirardelli Square. Once we were exhausted and hungry, we headed back towards our hotel. We found a Joe's Crab Shack. It sounded great. They sat us at the window where we were able to people watch. It happened to be the best entertainment we found.
Across the street was a man they referred to as "Bush Man". He has been scaring tourists with branches. I know... sounds strange...let me explain. He has been doing this for 30 years now. He hid himself by using a trashcan that was up against his back and branches that covered his body. When people walked by, all he would do was touch them with the branch. To watch these people jump and I'm sure scream was hilarious! Chris decided that when he retires, we would move to a tropical island and do the same thing. Low overhead and much cash coming in. While we were standing there, the bush man made $25 in just 10 minutes!! AMAZING!
We also went to Alamo Square. This is called Postcard Row but for me, it was more commonly known as the homes from Full House. These homes have also been featured in several movies..chick flicks! The downtown skyline was breathtaking from here.
Another must was Lombard St..known as the "crookedest street". I could not imagine actually living on this street.
